Cernunnos was an exceptional buck; he was on the ELITE list for several years, and I think that one of the reasons he did this was the improvements in rump structure that he made, both in rump thurl height, but in rump length. Progeny all tended to be an improvement in some way from the dam. Most of them were angular and dairy, with good shoulder assemblies. Some could be 'dippy' in the chine, although that never seemed all that difficult of a problem to fix.

I had been in search of bringing this Nightshade son here ever since he was a yearling--and I am glad that he is finally here. We love the kids we have gotten; we like Zeke's rump width and milk that he brings.

Rondo's sister Cassiopeia is an exceptional doe. Wnat most people miss is that Rondo is more correct in shoulder assembly, and his offspring are doing very nicely in the udder department, too. Rondo also passes on Ophelia's nice rump structure, too!

Do Fantasia and Ophelia share a similar outline and general appearance? It should come as no surprise that they share some common ancestry, notably Flat Rocks Here for the Party. It is eerie how Party lives on in her many descendents. We are hoping to tie back to Party as well as all the other goodness that we associate from Joanne's Dragonfly herd. Sincere thanks to Mandy & Chad Turnbull for bringing about transport for Theseus to Oregon--if we meet feel free to ask about the saga...

Caruso is one of five siblings that we have had the good fortune of having in our herd. Caruso is just as lovely and correct, and he has done very nice things for us and others.

Oak Apple Tempo Primo 03/07/21 |

Tempo Primo, as an ET/IVF kid, took a lot of time and expense to bring to the world. He brings the long, level general appearance of the maternal dam line, along with improvements in rump structure from the sire side. His first kids have been lovely, and we wait to see them freshen.

We are so grateful to have young Sargon in our herd--many, many, many thanks to Joanne Karohl for enabling us in this venture!! We would love to have a bunch of little Ninevahs around here! We love the strength of back & chine, rump, longevity; well, to be honest, just about everything. The only thing we don't like has been the low doe ratio in his first kid crop.

Rodion is the second son of Cavatina that we have used in our herd. Maestoso, the elder maternal brother, really moved our herd forward in many good directions and we are looking for the same from Rodion. Cavatina has a truly awesome shoulder assembly, in addition to her many other good attributes, and we are hoping that Rodion will pass this on.

I have admired Sarah Hawkins' & Andy Pestanis' does, especially Castle Rock Tahitian Sunset, the 2019 Nigerian ADGA National Champion. Tahiti Nui is a son out of Tahitian Sunset, and Tahiti Nui's sire traces back to some similar ancestry--a loose linebreeding, but it seems to have worked, at least in general appearance. We tried to double up on excellence in area of udder attachment in this AI breeding--we'll have to wait another few years to see if this will carry forward in Paramount's kids.

Valiant is from the second successful AI from Cernunnos, and we are so glad we've done this breeding. This is a repeat of Oak Apple CiarĂ¡n, we are being greedy wanting to double up on very similar but not exactly genetically identical individuals.
