I admire Ariella's dam Ariane. Take a moment to check out her page on Joanne Karohl's Dragonfly Farm website to see what I mean. Ariella has had a difficult first two kiddings, not her fault that we can tell--just bad luck. Her kidding in 2016 was easy, I literally was walking from one end of the pasture to the other, and by the time I made it back to the barn she had twin bucklings by her side. She also kidded easily in 2017. One of our linear appraisers pointed out that she has some of the best shoulders in our herd. The photos below are not quite at the angle to show her shoulder assembly well, unfortunately. Correct shoulder assembly is something that we should be paying more attention to as breeders of the Nigerian Dwarf, and we are trying to improve shoulders as in our herd.
